# Get started with Bob

Bob combines a command-line tool, Obsidian plugins, and an optional Mac capture panel around one Markdown vault. You can try the command-line workflow without installing Obsidian plugins.

## Choose a path

- [Is Bob for me?](<https://bobs-org.github.io/start/is-bob-for-me/index.md>) — the workflow, the audience, and what each surface covers (about 5 minutes).
- [Install Bob](<https://bobs-org.github.io/start/install/index.md>) — checkout, toolchain, install, and verification (about 10 minutes).
- [Your first Bob day](<https://bobs-org.github.io/start/first-bob-day/index.md>) — capture two tasks, choose one for a Pomodoro, finish it, and inspect the review queue (about 15 minutes).
- [Continue in Obsidian](<https://bobs-org.github.io/start/obsidian/index.md>) — open the demo in Obsidian with Tasks and Bob plugins (about 10 minutes).
- [Continue with Mac Capture](<https://bobs-org.github.io/start/mac-capture/index.md>) — the optional menu-bar panel on macOS (about 10 minutes).
- [Getting started contract](<https://bobs-org.github.io/getting-started/index.md>) — exact vault and command requirements for the complete workflow.

The first-day walkthrough uses a synthetic gardening vault. Afterward, open its copy in Obsidian or add the Mac panel when it fits your setup.
