Get started with Bob¶

Bob combines a command-line tool, Obsidian plugins, and an optional Mac capture panel around one Markdown vault. You can try the command-line workflow without installing Obsidian plugins.

Choose a path¶

• Is Bob for me? — the workflow, the audience, and what each surface covers (about 5 minutes).
• Install Bob — checkout, toolchain, install, and verification (about 10 minutes).
• Your first Bob day — capture two tasks, choose one for a Pomodoro, finish it, and inspect the review queue (about 15 minutes).
• Continue in Obsidian — open the demo in Obsidian with Tasks and Bob plugins (about 10 minutes).
• Continue with Mac Capture — the optional menu-bar panel on macOS (about 10 minutes).
• Getting started contract — exact vault and command requirements for the complete workflow.

Continue¶

The first-day walkthrough uses a synthetic gardening vault. Afterward, open its copy in Obsidian or add the Mac panel when it fits your setup.
